Dear Lady. Ann:
I have been with my partner for 2 years already. We used to live a life of sin and have since found the Lord. I still deal with issues from before we got saved. My partner has always had ungodly friends that I didn’t like. He gave them up when we started getting closer to the Lord as they are a stumbling block. He has recently been speaking to them again and after going on his phone this morning (I know I shouldn’t) he told his friend he can’t answer when I am around as he doesn’t want to upset me and he doesn’t have any friends anymore and it’s awful. My question is how do I let go of control and how do I handle this situation? I am obviously deeply hurt that there is secrets and about what he said but I guess I understand it as well. I have trouble trusting him with friends when I’m not around. How do I break free from this? I want to be the best partner I can be. I know I have my own shortcomings, so I want to extend grace to him too but without allowing something that will jeapordise our relationship.
