He Ended Our Friendship Because Of Her

Dear Lady. Ann:

I had a male childhood friend. He and I were pretty close. There was never a love relationship between us, just two people who had pure love for each other. He got into a serious relationship and his wife and I were pretty cool with each other. Unfortunately, she got angry with me over something I did and she insisted he ended his friendship with me. He told me how tough it was for him, but he saw a future with her and did not want to jeopardize that. He chose her over our friendship. I was disappointed, but I kept it moving.

Well, it has been a year and that relationship has ended as well. So, he reached out to me recently and wanted us to get back to being friends. That makes me feel all types of way. Like I wasn’t worthy of our friendship when his ex was around, and now that she isn’t there, all of a sudden I am worthy again. I don’t know. I just don’t think that’s fair. Am I being too sensitive? What would y’all do in my place?
