Dear Lady. Ann:
I’ve been a silent follower of your group. I am just in a bit of confusion right now, and maybe perhaps you and our sisters can share some light. Sorry if it may be too long. I’ve been with this guy for a year, and I know he’s the one God sent for me. He’s a godly man, and he goes to a Christian Baptist church. I, however, am a new Christian. God sent Him to invite me to his church and here I am now, almost a year in attending a church near me. I go to a Christian church but not a Baptist one. His pastors told him just recently we need to attend Baptist churches so we can get married someday.
Long story short, I am confused now if leaving my church for another is a good idea. I am afraid my church and leaders won’t agree considering we’re not married yet or something. I am also afraid doing so is a selfish act, because I also want to get married to this guy someday too. I haven’t asked my pastor and leader about this because of fear. I do know though if marriage is God’s will for us, nothing can hinder God’s plans. If me attending Baptist church is part of the plan, I believe it’ll happen and God will provide the way.
I’m actually not sure what to ask… I can’t question his pastors’ advice because they’re the pastor. I am just praying for it and leaving it to God’s hands now. The gospel tells me if it’s for God’s greater plans and glory, it is bound to happen.
I hope you can give your thoughts and help me pray about it?
