I saw one of your letters on Facebook, and I just needed a place to share my story anonymously. I have been dating a married man for 6 years. It started off as a fling, but then grew into something serious. He told me he and his wife were having issues and he was thinking of leaving. I believed it and we kept on going in hopes that he would leave her. I can’t tell you when, but I sensed he wasn’t going to be leaving her any time soon, but I loved him too much to let him go. Then I got pregnant, and had one more reason to stay with him. He would stay with me after work but go home to her at night.
I sensed his wife knew he was cheating from the get go. How? Well, she would be dumb not to think he must have been with another woman if he keeps coming back home so late. The problem is she reached out to me recently and it was a tough conversation. She asked me to leave her husband alone, and I told her we had a daughter together. She didn’t know that. I guess hearing her voice really broke me, because I have felt terrible ever since we spoke. But I also don’t want to be a single mom. My daughter gets to have her dad in her life and we get to be a little family, crazy as that might sound. I will be giving all of that up. I just don’t know what to do. Many people might not understand, but I just need some advise on what to do.
